What is Rusty and Corrosion?

Edit
We already know the many benefits of rainwater, but do you know if the iron is exposed to rain, an interesting chemical reaction will occur. Now, to find out, we just see the explanation below.
What is the Corrosion Definition and Rusty?
Rust referred to here is the result of oxidation corrosion of a metal. Rust is a term that has recently only been devoted to corrosion of iron.
However, corrosion is a destructive symptom that affects almost all metals. Rust and corrosion are two processes that cause material disintegration.
The occurrence of rust or corrosion due to a chemical reaction of iron (Fe) reacts with oxygen (O2) water.
The process of rusting is an electrochemical process, but iron which has rust is formulated with Fe2o3.xH2O.
If rust has formed on iron then it can speed up the next process of rusting, therefore the rust is also called the auto calls.
As explained above, rust is the result of oxidation corrosion of a metal, which is the main factor in the occurrence of rust in iron, namely oxygen, and water.
Now what we need to know is that rainwater that falls from the atmosphere contains a lot of oxygen, meaning that the water that falls and about iron will immediately occur a chemical reaction that is corrosion reaction.
Reactions that occur without going through the process of oxidation by oxygen which then makes it water droplets, but falling rainwater is corrosive because it already contains oxygen.
In addition, the pH of rainwater is less than seven digits and the moister the iron conditions, the faster the seam occurs. That is why rainwater can speed up the battle.
What is the Brokenness of Rusty?
In everyday life, we might consider the usual rust that occurs in iron but you know that if we leave it too long then the rust is very dangerous because it is fragile and poisonous.
The following are the losses arising from the fight:
- If it is rusty, the iron used for the foundation of a building or bridge support will become fragile and easily destroyed.
- Tools in the food and pharmaceutical industry may not use iron or metal rusting because rust formed in iron can be dissolved in food, medicines, and chemical compounds used for production.
- Rust formed will also dissolve in water, in the use of rusty water pipes can enter the circulation of water and make the water unhealthy to use
- Financial losses will also be felt due to having to pay for replacing iron or broken metal caused by rust.
How to Prevent Rusty on Iron?
Well, my best friend, is it quite serious not the impact of losses caused by rust? But there's no need to fear we will also provide a way to prevent iron on the iron.
Here's how to prevent iron from rust:
- Modifying the environment, by reducing air humidity and reducing oxygen levels can slow down the oxidation process that occurs in iron. For example, use Air Conditioners that are useful for cooling and reducing humidity in the Warehouse
- Using a mixture of iron with other elements. For example, Stainless steel containing 12% chromium and a little carbon is a mixture of iron with other elements so that it is rust resistant, usually used in the food industry
- Using iron metal which is associated with magnesium (Mg) or metal zinc (Zn) so that it is difficult to experience oxidation, this method is called cathodic protection. This method is commonly used in iron structures located in places that have high water sanitation such as sea water.
- Coating iron with metal compounds such as tin, nickel, silver, gold can protect the obsession from oxidation. Even no-metal compounds can help protect the iron from oxidation such as coating iron with paint, glass or lubricants.
